Keeps dropping on oil and anti freeze...

I can't seem to keep oil or anti freeze in my 22re truck, about 1000 kms and its down a quart of oil, and the anti freeze resovior is empty once again. No signs of leaks. Smelled the exhasut today, and it does have a sweet smell to it. What do you think? Head gasket? When I opened my fill cap, I found a tan milky fluid underneath, and a lot of it.

100% the head gasket. If its mixing that bad then do it now before it causes any internal damage to the bearings

I noticed that the whole front of the motor is soaked, all around the timing cover.

Stripped nuts on fan clutch pulley

just recently started working on my 93 toyota sr5 pickup and having great time, im currently doing my timing belt. when i went to remove fan clutch and pulley i noticed that the nuts attaching them were slightly stripped. so when i tried to crank them off one of them rounded off. theres not enough room inbetween the fan clutch and pulley to get a socket on. im wondering how to deal with this to get em outta there. am i able to take apart fan clutch as to gain easier access to nuts? or is that not a smart idea? Help im stuck and have to get past this, its driving me crazy.

hopefully someone will be able to give me some insite on my problem

thanks ryan

Hello Ryan, can you get a pair of needle nose vise grips to loosen nut? Hammer and a chisel to break loose? Only options i can think of. Hope this helps, Steve

Green wheels..on a white Corolla...that's a first for me, but hey you made it your own.

Welcome aboard!

What offset / width are your wheels and are you dropped on Tein S-techs or coilovers?

Reply 3 : My 10th Gen

Reply 6 : My 10th Gen

Reply 7 : My 10th Gen

Looks nice!

Wheel fitment with that drop looks great, first time i like green wheels lol

Reply 8 : My 10th Gen

Awesome fitment!!!

Reply 9 : My 10th Gen

interesting...the roof rack thing IMO is the trend this year. What are the specs of them BTW? My guess is that they're Rotas.

Reply 10 : My 10th Gen

i like them even if im not a fan of green, it looks different but not too "over-done" lol

i specially like the roof rack though it goes really well with the rolla white

Reply 11 : My 10th Gen

Nice! I think red probably would've looked better though.

Reply 12 : My 10th Gen

Interesting look, I don't care for the green wheels & the offset is too much for my taste. I think blue or red wheels would look better with a little less offset, but to each their own.

Reply 13 : My 10th Gen

Love the look... wheel color is all about personal preference.

Nice rims though, and nice drop

your car looks nice. i like it cuz its different not like everybody else

What is the simplest way to disable the TPMS light on the dash?

No high idle or fast idle

My 1993 Corolla Wagon has No fast idle ever. It could be -20 out and it will start on the first try and chug untill it gets everything moving. The ac will still kick the idle up when it is on?

Anyone have any suggestions.

Reply 1 : No high idle or fast idle

anyone?????

Sounds like a stuck Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. There are a few threads on how to check and clean the IAC along with the throttle body. I think Kiwi-Corolla wrote a DIY for it.

Check out these:

This isn't eBay, but an auction site over here that works the same way. Here's a Corolla GT (that came with a factory 4A-GE 20v engine) but the owner decided to pull it out and put an older 4A-GTE in there. Pretty cheap too ($3500 NZD = about $2000 USD or about 1600 GBP)

There was a green one on there with a full bodykit a little while ago, but the auction expired and I can't seem to find it again.

Reply 2 : some corollas i found on ebay...

the first 2 from ebay...the evo-kitted one is horrible, leftovers of the 90'2 "showcars" hahaha.the other one only has the wierd decals, but isn't.i'd still take them off if I'd but it, ridiculous price though lol

the one from the NZ site, I like it, its subtle and has a turbo

can't rmemeber where the seats are from, solair SE edition or was it a different edition?

Reply 3 : some corollas i found on ebay...

I don't think I like the Corolla hatch. The ass-end looks just like a Ford Escort. Ugh.

they were the worst 7th gen on ebay that i found lol... be my guest and put up any you fiind..

Yeah, I like it too, I'd buy it if I had the cash on me. As for the seats, they're standard in the Corolla GT model. They're exactly the same seats as mine, except I got mine from a Sprinter GT.

has that car got the 4agze engine?

it says supercharged on the rocker cover i think

Yep, 4A-GZE converted to turbo

Reply 8 : some corollas i found on ebay...

what the bhp of a supercharged one?

what the bhp of a turbocharged one?

Reply 9 : some corollas i found on ebay...

4A-GZE = 145hp

4A-GTE = Too many variables

It all depends on what turbo you go with and how much boost you run (and also how you tune it). Generally, a 4A-GTE will make the same amount of power at about half the boost of a 4A-GZE.

strange, every domestic market got different badging by toyota so.I have definately seen that pattern of seats before, but over here we never got a corolla GT, nearest thing was the jap-imported fx GT 20V lol

dont the GZE's have about 10psi standard (or was that with the HKS supercharger pulley?), and the car has 8psi at the minute...interesting lol, only downfall is the 4A-GE injectors, "100KW" which isn't much in bhp if I remember right?

Reply 11 : some corollas i found on ebay...

^ Yeah the stock boost on a 4A-GZE is about 7-8psi. If you remove the bypass valve then it raises a bit. The standard 4A-GZE injectors are 365cc each, and 100kW = 135bhp.

Reply 12 : some corollas i found on ebay...

365cc?what are normal 4A-GE then (thats all thats mentioned in the add?)

Reply 13 : some corollas i found on ebay...

I think he was actually meant to write 4A-GZE injectors, as he said the engine is a "Turbo 4age 16v", whereas he should have written 'Turbo 4A-GZE 16v'. The standard 4A-GE 16v injectors are only about 185cc each.

Reply 14 : some corollas i found on ebay...

ah cool, good to know that...any idea how small the standard 4e-fe injectors are?
