IS300 Wheels & Gen3 4-cyl Camrys fitment problem.

It seems that there's a problem with fitment on the Gen3 4-cyl Camrys with IS300 wheels.

My mechanic has confirmed that it wouldn't fit in his 92 4-cyl because of front caliper clearance - basically the 4-cyl front rotors are smaller than the V6 and the caliper brackets also sit closer to the center, therefore resulting the wheels touching the caliper bracket.

There are at least 2 other members here that had confirmed with fitting problems.

Spacers will make them fit, however this is highly not recommended to put spacers on the front wheels for a FWD car. This is a serious safety issue especially if you're using stock bolts together with the spacers.

yeah they didnt fit me.. not just the 92s i think it went all the around the gen 3s as long as it was a 4cyl... i ended up using the H&R 10mm spacer on it... it worked awesome no wheel play when i had them on... the extended bolts also worked well...

humpty

I was considering doing Supra brakes up front and regular v6 rotors in the back.....then ill have to buy another new master cyl. Whats the deal on spacers? Mabey ill sell the rims and go with the subzeros.

i've seen IS300 wheels on solara as well, any general consensus for i4 versus v6 fitment issues for either gen4 camrys or gen1 solaras?

OK guys, i added is300 rims to my 4cyl (5sfe) solara. The fronts fit perfectly, the rears are hitting the inside strut assembly, I'm not a wheel professional, but i'd leave it to discount tire to decide what spacers i might need in the rear. Since i'm not free on the weekends, i'll have to hold off ridining like such for a while - anyone with is300 wheels knows what size spacers they needed in the rear, my ride is 2001 Solara SE (5sfe);

Edit: From what i've searched, 5mm spacers with new studs i want i need now. Are the front studs 5mm longer than the rear (hence asking??)

This fitment problem is for gen3s only right? Does the fitment issue goes for gen4 (inline 4)?

^^ yes, someone else in houston had problems on gen4 i4's.

What ever happened to a shopping list?

I might go with these rims until I can buy something flashier.
