Official Aggressive (Hellaflush) Wheel/Tire Fitment: Questions? Click here*

I get about 5-10 private messages a week asking me about aggressively stanced wheel fitment. If you have questions about...

1) How to flush/poke your wheels

2) How much stretch can you get away with

3) Rolling and pulling fenders

4) Maxing out stock camber bolts etc

5) What offset/width would be best for an aggressive fitment

6) And so on...

I'm not very arrogant at all, but I am very knowledgeable in this field of "hellaflush" or flush fitment. If you have ANY questions, post your questions here and I'll be more than happy to help you out. Since this is a rare breed and comes with a lot of negativity, I'm hoping those negative comments will be excused in the hopes of less clutter and nonsense in this thread. Only people wondering about aggressive wheel fitment on their Gen 5+6 should chime in. Of course, my knowledge lies within the Gen 6, but I'm hoping Asian and the others with the Gen5 may contribute. I have a host of users here that can attest to my help, and I'm definitely willing to extend this knowledge to you. Ask away!

ironically, i misread this at first.

i'm not so "hellaflush", but i'll definitely chime in with the gen5-specifics.

is a current picture of the car a prerequisite? lol.

paraphrased from what i said in "wheel, tire, and offset" thread:

wheel: 18x9.5+35 all around

effective offset: +35 front, +30 rear via 5mm spacer

tires: 225/45R18 goodyear eagles a/s all around

suspension: BC coilovers

front camber: -1.6 degrees via upper camber plates set to halfway

rear camber: -2.9 degrees via rear eibach/spc camber bolts; ~bolt pointed 30 degrees from max negative

other: shocks set to 2 from softest setting. rare strut rubbing in rear if i don't use 5mm spacers.

fender-work: cut & shaved fenders and tabs automatically pushed away from tires. haha.

different brands of tires respond to stretch differently (i.e. some tires stretch with a concave curve on sidewall, while others do the "bubble-stretch", so i thought brand/model was worth mentioning.

a lot of trial and error with alignment, and one strut-rubbing incident in the rear.

i think if i were going to "hellaflush" the cam, i'd drop the front .75 to 1 inch, keep the cambers (actually, front camber might slightly camber in more with drop), space out the rears with the 15mm ichibasII that i have (it would evenly poke out ~5mm all around), and set the shocks to a semi-bone-jarring setting to prevent some of the rubbing, but not all. maybe for a show, photoshoot, or something, but for now, i'm really happy with the "stance" and it's not a pain-in-the-butt to drive. paul is right. it takes commitment, and i'm saving that for after i move and get a decent job to pay for the tire-shredding (lol jk).

surprisingly, rears aren't showing excessive inner-tire wear with the -2.9. toe was set to right smack in the middle of factory specs to minimize rear inner-tire wear. i guess all those people claiming toe as a greater factor on tire wear were right! in fact, when i had the rears at -2.0, the outside was wearing a tad more than inside for some strange reason. it was somewhat necessary to bump towards negative on the rears. lol. i'm suspecting weird geometry due to overlowering (face it, anything beyond 2" of drop on a gen5 is overlowering). fronts are fine, since factory camber specs max out of -1.5 degrees- i'm just a hair off.

yeah. i tend to ramble.

Good idea for a thread peachy, ill be definietly checking up on this thread often and ask questions when i finally decide to change my wheels and suspension again (after lip kit and audio, hopefully towards the end of the year)

Awesome thread, love the pics peach. Being that I am just getting on board with my car, I will also be watching.

Peach, can you measure the distance to the ground from the side skirts? I'm curious as to how much lower hella-flush actually is than mine

Do you have any direct side pics?

i need camber so i can dump my car. any suggestions? and no, my coilovers dont have adjustable camber for the rear. its currently at -1.5 i think in the rear with some WEAK camber bolts but i need at least -3 any inputs!

thank u sir

I never did. My front is less than half of a credit card length. My frame is under an inch from the ground.

It would be easier to see the height of the car front to back.

can fit this wheel?

18x9.5 +35 offset

with 245/45-18 tires

Will I have to roll fenders?

You will rub for sure with those tires size. I rubbed a little with 18x9 +35 with 235/45/18.

You might be ok with 245/40/18 and roll/shave your fender.

But since this is an aggressive specs, I will let Princess Peach answer it for you.

Flush fitment looks great on a spring drop that you have, but if you're looking to fit a 18x9.5 on the front, its not going to look that great to be honest. Seeing the fronts camber out negatively with a considerable wheel gap may not be the look you're going for.

But if it is.

235/40/18 will fit on the rear without a pull or a roll, but you will rub occasionally on H&Rs.

225/40/18 will fit on the rear, and you will rub less than the 235, but still should rub very very seldomly (once every 2 weeks or so on a huge dip on the freeway)

For the fronts

You will have to stretch massively to get away with 18x9.5. The tire size I recommend will be 225/40/18, and max out the stock camber in the fronts

The rears you can leave with the stock camber. The look will leave you with the fronts having more negative camber than the rears. For a flusher fitment, I'd add a 5mm spacer in the rear with maxed out stock camber.

P.S. Thanks Dcem for adding the clarification note <3
